Welcome to North Sumatra! Upon your arrival at Kualanamu International Airport, you will be greeted warmly by our representative from Aulia Tour Medan. After a brief meet and greet, we begin our scenic journey to Parapat, passing through vast plantations of rubber and palm oil along the way.
Our first stop will be in Pematang Siantar where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, offering a variety of traditional Indonesian dishes to energize you for the trip ahead.
After lunch, we make a short stop at the famous Toko Paten, a local specialty store where you can purchase signature Sumatran snacks such as tengteng, tingting, and other nut-based delicacies—perfect souvenirs to take home.
Continuing the drive to Parapat, we will check in to your lakeside hotel upon arrival. In the evening, enjoy a delightful dinner at a local restaurant with a stunning view of Lake Toba, accompanied by traditional Batak music. After dinner, return to the hotel and relax for the night.
After breakfast at the hotel, we head to Ajibata Port to cross the majestic Lake Toba by motorboat to Samosir Island, a cultural heartland of the Batak people. Enjoy the cool breeze and scenic views as we sail across the lake.
Upon arrival on the island, we’ll visit Tomok Village to see the ancient stone tomb of King Sidabutar. You may also enjoy the optional Sigale-gale dance performance, a unique puppet show deeply rooted in Batak tradition. Take your time to browse the handicraft market in Tomok, where you’ll find beautiful souvenirs made by the local artisans.
We then return to Parapat for lunch at a lakeside restaurant. Afterwards, we travel through the breathtaking highland route of Simarjarunjung, where you can stop to enjoy a cup of ginger tea and fried bananas (personal expense) while taking in the panoramic views of Lake Toba from above.
Our journey continues with a photo stop at Sipiso-piso Waterfall, one of Indonesia’s tallest waterfalls, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush greenery. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Berastagi, a charming highland town known for its cool climate and beautiful scenery. Check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before retiring for the evening.
Start your day with breakfast in the fresh mountain air of Berastagi. After checking out from the hotel, we visit the Berastagi Fruit Market, famous for its vibrant selection of local produce such as passionfruit, strawberries, and avocados—perfect for tasting or taking home.
Next, we head to the Taman Lumbini Pagoda, a beautiful golden replica of Myanmar’s Shwedagon Pagoda, surrounded by serene gardens and peaceful atmosphere—an ideal spot for photos and reflection.
The journey then continues through the scenic Sembahe highlands, offering winding roads and verdant hill views as we make our way to the bustling city of Medan. Upon arrival, we begin our city exploration.
Our first stops include iconic landmarks such as the Maimun Palace, a heritage site reflecting the grandeur of Malay culture; The Grand Mosque of Medan, a stunning piece of Islamic architecture; and the historic Tjong A Fie Mansion, showcasing the life of one of Medan’s most influential Chinese merchants.

After breakfast, we begin a full-day tour of Medan’s cultural and spiritual landmarks. Our first stop is the Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni, a unique Catholic church built in the architectural style of a Hindu temple—a remarkable symbol of harmony and diversity.
Then we visit Vihara Maha Maitreya (Cemara Asri), one of Southeast Asia’s largest Buddhist temples, featuring peaceful courtyards and striking dragon statues. It’s a perfect place for calm contemplation and photography.
Later, we explore Asam Kumbang Crocodile Farm, home to hundreds of crocodiles in various stages of growth. It's a fascinating (and safe) way to observe these ancient reptiles in a controlled environment.
